China rejects disputed border to the United Nations

BEIJING - China rejected the demands of the Philippines who want to bring the dispute waters of the South China Sea to the UN tribunal.

"China declared the South China Sea dispute should be resolved by negotiation between the countries concerned," said Foreign Ministry Spokesman China Hong lei, told AFP on Tuesday (07/12/2011).

South China Sea are believed to be rich in natural resources was claimed by China, the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia and Taiwan.

Earlier, Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario called for bringing this dispute to a court case to the UN maritime governed by the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

South China Sea disputes are also judged more tense. China and the Philippines looks more incentive to call for its claim over the area waters.
