BARCELONA - Nearly one year after the Spanish victory at the 2010 World Cup final, Andres Iniesta shirt which he showed after scoring a dramatic victory, it was on display at the Stadium Espanyol, Barcelona.
Having scored the goal against the Netherlands, in the second half of extra time, Iniesta tore her costume to show a white sleeveless T-shirt decorated with a Spanish-language sentence Dani Jarque Siempre con nosotros meaning 'Dani Jarque always with us'.
Seen by millions of television viewers around the world, it is a tribute to friend and former captain Iniesta Dani Jarque Espanyol. Jarque collapsed and died at the age of 26 years, during pre-season tour in Italy in August 2009.
"In this way, Iniesta won the hearts of all Espanyol supporters," said one of the directors Espanyol, as quoted rcdespanyol.com, Sunday (10/07/2011).
Iniesta was worn jerseys are now on display inside the stadium. "Without a doubt, this will be one of the most valuable objects and admired in our stadium for all of their representatives," said the club.
Top oversized heart, Iniesta was given a standing aplause by Espanyol fans, when his team travel to Barcelona Cornella-El Prat, in the Catalan derby in the Champions league last December.
