Again, Three Bombs Hit Green Zone

The three bombs at once struck the Green Zone in Baghdad, Iraq, on Tuesday (12 / 7) afternoon. A series of explosions occurred in the zone administration, houses belonging to Iraqi officials and U.S. embassy. The blast caused a cloud of thick smoke, and reportedly damaged some buildings. Luckily, it did not blow the bomb resulted in fatalities.

 The attack came a day after U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta met with U.S. military commanders in Iraq. Both military officials Adi State Resources also held talks with Iraqi officials on the fate of U.S. troops after the withdrawal deadline in late 2011.

 Green Zone is heavily guarded by security forces is often the target of guerrilla mortar and rocket attacks. Green zone is approximately 10 square kilometers is located on the west bank of the Tigris River.
