Attacked Turtles, New York Airport Flight Delays

NEW YORK - Dozens of flights at John F. Kennedy International Airport had to be postponed, after the airport was attacked. Not by terrorists or criminals, the airport was busy in New York, United States (U.S.) that just diserangan by hundreds of turtles.

Approximately 150 turtles tail suddenly crawl into Kennedy Airport runway. Suddenly slow parade of animals that make airport officials to take action. So reported the Associated Press on Thursday (06/30/2011).

Airports Authority of New York and New Jersey said, "Initially there was a turtle in sight. Suddenly the number had grown a lot." These conditions forced airport authorities to divert the flight to another runway.

While airlines at the airport will have to wait approximately 30 minutes. Hundreds of turtles are known to find a place to lay eggs and this was already common before.

Migrating turtles is common at Kennedy Airport each year. The airport is on the edge of Jamaica Bay and close to a national park. Each end of June and early July of turtles out of the bay and moving toward shore to spawn.
