JERUSALEM - Israel rejected accusations that Egypt claims that the Mossadintelligence had been arrested in Cairo. Israel declared the allegations false and do not have proof.
"That is absolutely untrue, there is no Israeli agent who was caught in Egypt," saidForeign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor Israel, as quoted by the BBC on Monday(6/13/2011).
"This report is fictitious, so far we do not receive any information from the Egyptiansecurity authorities with respect to Israeli citizens who were arrested," he said.
Egyptian security authorities arrested a man named Ilan Grapel on charges spies for the Mossad's actions aimed at economic and political sectors.
Grapel also accused of masterminding a demonstration in Tahir Square Cairo andsectarian conflict pitting in Egypt.
The suspect was arrested on charges of spreading chaos after the fall of formerPresident Hosni Mubarak.
