Sunderland - Sunderland became the most active clubs in the Premier League in the summer transfer market so far. Evidently, they had to bring in nine new players brought to the Stadium of Light.
As quoted Football365 on Wednesday (07/13/2011), Steve Bruce has brought goalkeeper Keiren Westwood from Coventry City. Two experienced defender John O'Shea and Wes Brown from United. Two energetic midfielder David Vaughan (Blackpool) and Craig Gardner (Birmingham City).
Dead ball specialist Sebastian Larsson (Birmingham City), and two young players in the sector before Connor Wickham (Ipwisch) and Dong-Won Ji of the K-League club, Cunnam Dragons FC. Sunderland have also completed the transfer by bringing Ahmed Elmohamady permanently.
On the other hand, Bruce will also return four players to loan their respective club. There Nedum Onuoha, John Mensah, Sulley Muntari, and Danny Welbeck. Meanwhile, Jordan Henderson has joined Liverpool.
Now Bruce, will have a bigger squad. All he's done for the sake of covering the classic problem of the club, which is the number of injured players last season. Bruce was more fortunate this time on the front line, but he will certainly aware of the risks have been taken by him.
With many new players brought in, then it means that Bruce will remodel his squad. Obviously with the squad that has been overhauled, it needs adaptation which could take much longer.
And more importantly, whether the squad that he could bring truly improve the quality of his squad.
