DENPASAR - Foreign Minister Visits the United States, Hillary Clinton, to the Bali meeting of ASEAN foreign minister, 16 to 23 July 2011 is proof that Indonesia is important in the eyes of the United States. This was revealed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United States Economy, Energy and Agriculture, Robert D Hormats, after the discussion 'The role of Indonesia in the Global Economy' at the House of GDLN Udayana University, Jalan PB Sudirman, Denpasar, on Friday (22 / 7).
"The arrival of the Minister of Clinton here is proof that we are very much importance the U.S. relationship with Indonesia," he added.
Hormats said, Indonesia is the only Southeast Asian country in the G-20 and become a stronger partner for the United States. "Indonesia is the only Southeast Asian country in the G-20 and the country is a strong partner for us. Indonesia is a country of democracy are blooming and are conducting large-scale reform process. We are very impressed on the implementation of these reforms," he said.
According to him, Indonesia has a number of things to do to continue the reform process that will be able to reinvigorate its economy. "We reckon there are some things you can do Indonesia to continue the reform process in order to further strengthen its economy back on one or two decades," said former U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador this 1979-1981 period.
"And we welcome this partnership. We welcome a stronger Indonesia, Indonesia is more prosperous," said Hormats.
