Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia flagship racer, Rifat Sungkar, together with navigator, Scott Beckwith, began to prepare for the Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) series of four in New Zealand, Friday (15 / 7) through Sunday (17 / 7).
Racer who joined in Cusco Pertamina Rally Team on Thursday, has even set up the Mitsubishi Evolution X that has been used in the 2011 APRC series and test track.
"At trial, we used the medium compound tires, but the results are less satisfactory because the suspension is too soft so the car is always sliding when braking. But, after playing with different suspension set ups, we finally found what should we use for this field," said Rifat via international telephone connection.
According to him, while testing the track and setting the vehicle, the weather in Whangarei, New Zealand reached 16 degrees Celsius. At his trial this time with Scott Beckwith get the chance to try the track 12 times over 4 km.
With the results it hoped the testing carried out on the championship is not really a constraint so as to provide the best results.
