United States Jewish demonstrators staged a massive demonstration in Washington, demanding an end to unconditional support for the U.S. to the Zionist regime of Israel, Press TV reported. The protesters, consisting of several young students, gathered outside the U.S. State Department on Thursday (15 / 9) voice to urge support for Washington's efforts to seek Palestinian statehood at the UN.
"I not only support their rights, who trampled on by Israel and the Zionist movement, I feel a special obligation as an American citizenship, as a descendant of Jews and as people who believe in belief in human rights, to speak about this," said Jewish-American protesters, Benjamin Douglas told Press TV.
The demonstrators also called for an end to Washington's policy of government in sharing the American taxpayer funds to Israel and demanded that the financial and military aid is spent at home rather than abroad for programs that benefit American citizens.
Palestinians said it would soon file charges for the state to the UN on September 23, despite harsh criticism from Washington and Tel Aviv. Membership requires a recommendation from the UN Security Council and the approval of two thirds of the General Assembly, or the 128 member countries.
