WASHINGTON - U.S. President Barack Hussein Obama talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to "consult on regional issues, with efforts to achieve Middle East peace.
Benjamin Netanyahu expressed appreciation for U.S. support for Israel's security, especially against the Iron Dome short-range rockets and mortars defense system, according to a White House statement. The two leaders agreed to continue to exchange thoughts in dealing with security issues, the statement said.
Iron Dome, an Israeli-made system built to intercept incoming rockets, shooting down eight short-range rockets fired by militants into Israel during the escalation of violence along the Israel-Gaza border in April.
